Live Event Streaming 101

What is a webcast?

A video presentation streamed live over the Internet to a remote audience, using state-of-the-art technology.

Why webcast a live event?

So even when people can’t be there in person, they can still share in the experience. This is possible today, using our innovative and turn-key webcasting service, which streams live video to an audience that is either unable or unwilling to attend the event in person.

Our tech producer will be present on-site at conference, workshop or corporate meeting venues – and we also service outdoor locations using Mobile Webcasting setups. We can even provide a secure event code to control access to your webcast.

How can Live Streams be viewed?

Audiences can view the live webcast on any laptop or desktop computer which has a regular Internet Browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.). No special equipment is needed. The webcast from the computer can also be streamed to a TV set via a standard HDMI cable, assuming your computer has that connection. Our technology provides high quality audio and video viewer uses a broadband internet reception.

Can viewers with slow dial-up connections view a live webcast?

Absolutely! Our servers automatically detect the viewers connection speed and provide the relevant signal strength to show them a smooth webcast.

What if someone misses the live Webcast?

We always archive all our Live Event Streams which can be made available to audiences as VOD (Video-On-Demand) and can be accessed off your own website – again without any extra hardware or software requirements..

Are streams available in High Def?

Yes. Even if some viewers have slow Internet connections, we can get past those hurdles by broadcasting in ABR (Adaptive Bitrate) streams. This technology adapts to each individual viewer’s connection speed to present them with the most suitable resolution that will stream smoothly for them. Having said that however, in certain cases like broadcasts to rural areas, it may be advisable to stick to Standard Definition (SD) or even lower, due to bandwidth restrictions for their local consumer Internet connections. Even in those instances, our high quality of audio/video streaming is quite adequate for a crystal clear view of video as well as PowerPoint slides.

Can Live Streams be viewed on Smartphones & iPhones?

All webcasting services are provided in high quality and are easy to view on all types of devices—from smart phones, tablets, laptops, desktops as well as large-screen TVs and flat screens.

What features can be added to a Webcast?

Direct capture of PowerPoint slides, including animations, Interactive Chat Screen for audience feedback, polls and surveys, Mobile Support: for Android and Apple devices such as iPhone or iPad enables viewers on the go to participate at your events. You could even use the Online Registration system on our servers to register and login viewers before a webcast.
